Understanding Base Sheets - Taxonomy

The Taxonomy sheet is designed to help improve the taxonomy in place for your project.

To make selections and update the report:

  1. Click a data point in a chart or graph in the content area of a sheet.

    All associated visualizations are updated immediately. A confirmation box displays around the selection.

  2. To confirm the selection, click the Tick (Tick) icon or press ENTER.

Taxonomy

The following table describes the sections of the Taxonomy sheet:

Section Description and actions
SUMMARY

Displays the following items:

  • Total number of feedback items containing a comment.
  • Total number of insights the Sentiment engine extracted from the comments.
  • Average number of insights per comment.
  • Categorised topics: counts the volume of insights that have been included in all taxonomy categories.
  • # mentions: counts the total number of times categorised topics have been mentioned by customers in the verbatim.
  • Uncategorised topics: counts topics the Sentiment engine has identified that are not listed in the taxonomy.
  • # mentions: counts the total number of times uncategorised topics have been mentioned by customers in the verbatim.
  • % positive: counts the uncategorised topics that are generating a positive sentiment.
  • % negative: counts the uncategorised topics that are generating a negative sentiment.
  • % no sentiment: counts the uncategorised topics that are generating no sentiment.
UNCATEGORISED TOPICS

Identifies the uncategorised topics that are mentioned most often in the verbatim.

  • Click an uncategorised topic to view the sentiments for that topic in the LINKED SENTIMENTS panel. Viewing the Linked Sentiments helps determine whether or not an uncategorised topic should be added to the taxonomy.
LINKED SENTIMENTS Contains the sentiments for the uncategorised topics contained in the UNCATEGORISED TOPICS panel.
TOPICS & INSIGHTS - LAST 12 MONTHS Provides a history of the uncategorised topics and insights identified.
SAMPLE COMMENTS Displays a selection of comments from verbatims that contain uncategorised topics.
